Abstract
The essay addresses socio-legal reflections about territorial intervention. Its objective is to analyze the Mexican legislation on which the management of the territory and natural goods is based. This analysis is interwoven and discussed with the official perspective on the empty territories, the construction of legal fissures and the discourse that intentionally attributes to it a vocation in order to enable its intervention and to modify it. It is observed that the governmental focus on empty territories, under which studies of territorial planning and ecological planning are carried out, generally does not consider that the territory is subject to multiple and complex cultural, social, economic and political processes. It is documented that the power groups take advantage of the laxity of the environmental provisions and the political junctures to place highly transformative projects of the territory. It is concluded that these territorial interventions, far from putting the identity of the inhabitants in the forefront to articulate community bonds, erodes them and generates levels of tension and conflict.
Keywords: Territory, legislation, socialized space, intervention, vocation.
