Resumen

Este artículo analiza la noción de derechos humanos con el fin de entender por qué la praxis de estos no ha sido capaz de desentrañar una injusticia estructural que asume rasgos catastróficos en la globalización neoliberal. Reflexionamos sobre la manera en que el paradigma liberal, al eclipsar la comprensión de la estructura ética de los derechos humanos, fomenta la violación estructural de los derechos humanos. Siguiendo a Emmanuel Levinas, se sostiene que los derechos humanos surgen, de manera primigenia, como derechos del Otro. Este expediente teórico permite visualizar la forma en que la subjetividad ética se vincula con las estructuras sociales, alumbrando la manera en que los derechos humanos pueden transformarse desde la vida cotidiana.

Abstract

This article undertakes a critical analysis of the notion of human rights with the aim of understanding why these rights are unable to disentangle a structural injustice, which takes catastrophic traits in the context of neoliberal globalization. We reflect upon the way in which the liberal paradigm eclipses the comprehension of the ethical structures of human rights, rendering possible their structural violation. Following Emmanuel Levinas, we claim that human rights emerge primordially as the rights of the Other. This theoretical turn allows the identification of a way in which ethical subjectivity relates to social structures, illuminating paths to change the praxis of human rights from the viewpoint of everyday life.
